GCTD Implements Temporary Reduction in Service

Effective, Sunday March 29, 2020, GCTD will implement a temporary reduction in service in response to COVID-19.

Most routes will operate on a Sunday-level service, seven days a week.  In addition, in order to enhance physical distancing on the bus, elimination of fare collection and rear door boardings will remain in effect until further notice. The front door is reserved for seniors and passengers with disabilities.

Amidst the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) crisis, GCTD is committed to our mission to provide safe, reliable, efficient service to the maximum extent possible.  Public transportation is designated as an essential service for people to get to essential jobs, health care facilities, and groceries.

These temporary modifications are being made in light of significantly reduced ridership, staffing levels, and to enhance the health and safety of our employees and the communities we serve.  The new schedules will be uploaded into the new GoVCbus mobile app so passengers can continue to plan trips and track the buses during this period of modified service.

Starting this Sunday, March 29th, GCTD routes will operate as follows:

Routes Operating DAILY Following a Reduced "Sunday" Schedule
1A/B, 2, 3, 4A/B, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 21

"We are closely monitoring and coordinating with federal, state, and local health experts.  We are doing our very best to adapt and navigate through this ever-changing health crisis while maintaining a community lifeline - public transportation", said GCTD's General Manager, Steven Brown. "The health and safety of our employees, customers, and neighbors remains our top priority".

GCTD will reasses the need to continue these changes on a weekly basis.
