Fixed Route Fares

Adults (19 - 64)

Regular, full-price fares:

Single Ride – $1.50
Day Pass – $4.00
15-Ride Pass – $20.00
31-Day Pass – $50.00 (unlimited rides)

*Regular rates. No ID required.

Children & Youth (0 - 18)

Youth Ride FREE! Anyone 18 years or under OR enrolled high school students who are older.  Free rides on all routes, seven days a week.

High school students should be prepared to show an ID to show proof of age. GCTD can provide a Youth ID at no charge.

Seniors 65+ & Reduced Rates

Seniors 75+ ride free, otherwise the following rates apply to seniors aged 65 – 74:

Single Ride – $0.75
Day Pass – $2.00
15-Ride Pass – $10.00
31-Day Pass – $25.00 (unlimited rides)

*These rates require either verification of veteran status,  proof of age or an appropriate GCTD reduced fare ID, Medicare Card or ADA ID.

College Ride Program

Students enrolled at California Lutheran University, California State University Channel Islands, Moorpark College, Oxnard College or Ventura College are FREE to ride any public transit bus in Ventura County. Students are required to show the driver or tap their school ID in order to board for free.

Flexible Services

ACCESS Paratransit (ADA certified or Senior) – $3 each way
ACCESS ZONES (temporary disability) – Starts at $3.
Late Night Safe Rides (Anyone age 16+) – $2 each way
Rides to Your COVID-19 Vaccine – FREE

Fare Policies

Reduced & Free Fares

Gold Coast Transit District offers free or discounted fares to small children, youth, college students, seniors, Veterans, Medicare recipients and persons with disabilities.  When boarding the bus, you must show the driver the correct type of ID for the discounted fare categories.

Free Transfers

If your trip requires the use of more than one bus to reach your destination, you may ask the driver for a free transfer when you pay your fare.  Transfers are valid for unlimited rides for 2 hours.  The expiration time will be printed on the back of the ticket.  Transfers are not issued with unlimited ride passes such as the Day-Pass or 31-Day Pass.  

Cash Fare Overpayment

A Farebox Credit will be issued to the passenger by the farebox when an overage is paid. The balance will be printed on the back of the ticket. Each time you ride thereafter, insert the Farebox Credit into the Farebox and the balance will be applied to your fare. Be sure to notify the bus operator which fare category you pay, standard or reduced fare, before inserting your farebox credit. GCTD is not responsible for lost, torn, bent or damaged farebox credits.

To help you travel farther, we accept the following regional bus and rail agency passes and transfers. Passes subject to change by issuing agency.

  • Ojai Trolley Transfers
  • Valley Express Transfers
  • Metrolink & Amtrak ticket (show printed or mobile ticket to driver) Valid for same day travel to or from a rail station.

Terms & Conditions

All ticket sales are final. No refunds or exchanges are permitted. A 31-Day is valid for one person to ride for 31 consecutive days starting from the date of first use. Reduced Fare pass and ticket holders must prepared to show proper ID or proof of eligibility. Possession and care of ticket is the responsibility of the ticket holder. GCTD is not responsible for replacement of damaged, lost, or stolen tickets or farebox credits. Bus schedules, routes, equipment, and fares are subject to change.  Advance notice will be provided.

Free & Reduced Fare ID Cards

Gold Coast Transit District issues photo identification cards for persons with disabilities, Youth 18 and under, Seniors 65+ and 75+ Free. To obtain a GCTD Reduced Fare photo ID Card, passengers must meet the following criteria.

Free & Reduced Fair Eligibility

Gold Coast Transit District offers free or discounted fares to small children, youth, seniors, Medicare recipients and persons with disabilities. For certain categories, an ID is required upon boarding to prove eligibility. More details below:

  • Youth (18 and under): FREE. No ID required in most cases. Older youth should be prepared to show an ID to prove eligibility.
  • College Students: FREE. Current College Issued ID Required.
  • Senior 65+: Half off the regular fare. Proof of age required upon boarding or GCTD-issued Reduced Fare ID Card.
  • Senior 75+: FREE. Proof of age or Gold Coast Transit- issued 75+ ID card.
  • Medicare, Social Security Insurance (SSI) Recipients: Half off the regular fare. Valid Medicare card or ADA ID required upon boarding.
  • Persons with Disabilities: Half off the regular fare. Gold Coast Transit Reduced Fare ID Card or ADA ID required upon boarding.
  • Veterans: Half off the regular fare. Valid Veterans Administration Card, CA Drivers License with Veterans Designation or government issued document showing proof of Veteran status with photo ID.

GCTD Free or Reduced Fare ID Card

Eligibility & Application Instructions

Gold Coast Transit District issues photo identification cards for youth, persons with disabilities, Seniors 65+ and Seniors 75+. To obtain a GCTD photo ID Card, passengers must meet the following criteria:

  • Youth 18 and Under:
    • Proof of age
  • Senior Citizens 65+ or 75+:
    • Proof of age
  • Disabled Individuals:
    • Reduced Fare ID Card Application - English | Spanish
      Must be completed by one of the following: a physician, a licensed medical professional, a licensed optometrist (for visual impairments), or a counselor/social worker (representing a recognized organization for people with disabilities).
    • Picture ID
  • Medicare, Social Security Insurance (SSI) Recipients:
    • Valid Medicare card or ADA ID
  • Veterans:
    • Valid Veterans Administration Card, CA Drivers License with Veterans Designation or government issued document showing proof of Veteran status with photo ID..

To receive your GCTD Free or Reduced fare ID card, bring your required documentation to our Customer Service Center at the Oxnard Transit Center.

Lost Cards

Once issued, if your GCTD Free or Reduced Fare ID card is lost, a replacement fee of $1.00 will be charged.

How To Buy A Pass

Regional Transit Pass (VCbuspass)

The regional transit card, VCbuspass, is accepted on GCTD's fixed route buses.  The cards can be purchased at GCTD's Customer Service Center.
