Wednesday, April 14, 6:30 p.m.
Topping Room of the EP Foster Library
The community is invited to attend a Town Hall Meeting on public transit Wednesday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the Topping Room of the EP Foster Library, 651 E. Main Street, Ventura. The meeting will give West County residents a chance to learn about unprecedented funding challenges facing bus and rail transit service in the West County and discuss the community’s public transit priorities.
To begin the meeting, Ventura Mayor Bill Fulton will moderate a panel discussion on the current budget shortfall with the following participants: Darren Kettle, Executive Director, Ventura County Transportation Commission; Deborah Linehan, General Manager, Gold Coast Transit; and Tom Mericle, Transportation Manager, City of Ventura. After the panel discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to share their thoughts on ways the respective agencies may close the funding gap and what transit services deserve the highest priority for funding, as well as pose questions to the panelists. Ongoing opportunities for public transit advocacy will also be discussed.
