Trip Planning Now at Your Fingertips!

As part of its efforts to improve the way it communicates with the public, Gold Coast Transit worked with Google Maps to provide trip planning assistance, making transit data more accessible than ever before.

Now, a visitor browsing Google Maps will seamlessly be introduced to GCT’s transit information thanks to the stop/station icons that appear on the map when searching for directions within the service area.  Additionally, Google Maps can provide walking directions, so passengers can find out exactly how to get to the nearest transit stop, and how to get to their destination once they exit the bus.

Gold Coast Transit began integrating all of its schedule and route information with Google Maps last year and underwent multiple test phases to ensure the accuracy of the information.  Now, that information is available to all who use Google Maps and is accessible directly from GCT’s website.  For the smart phone user, transit information is also available at their fingertips on the Google Maps app for iPhone and Android, or at maps.google.com

“We are thrilled to offer this feature to our passengers and hope this trip planning tool will encourage new riders to try transit”, said Steven P. Brown, GCT’s General Manager.

Web users can visit www.goldcoasttransit.org to begin planning their trip, or access the information directly from www.google.com/transit.

We hope the accessibilty of this information makes for a more convenient ride. Please provide your feedback by submitting your comments here
