People with disabilities who are unable to use fixed-route bus service due to a functional mobility impairment must be certified by the Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC) prior to using GCT ACCESS service.
Please contact the VCTC ADA Certification Coordinator at 888-667-7001 for further details on the certification process or visit the ADA Certification page on VCTC's website.
Anyone 65 years of age or older may use GCT ACCESS service and no application or certification is required. However the driver may request proof of age when boarding the vehicle.
People participating in the Senior Nutrition Lunch Site Program are eligible for free transportation to and from the lunch site closest to their residence. If you need transportation to and from the lunch site, notify the Nutrition Coordinator at the lunch site nearest you.
If you are not eligible for GCT ACCESS, or if you enjoy the convenience of regular fixed-route bus service, GCT fixed-route bus service may be your choice for transportation. GCT provides bus service in Ojai, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Ventura and the unincorporated areas of Ventura County between these cities.
People with disabilities and Seniors 65 years of age or older are eligible for discounted fares on the fixed-route service (with proof of age). The cash fare is only 75¢ per trip. GCT also offers monthly passes and 10-ride, 20-ride and 30-ride tickets at a greater discount than paying cash.
All GCT buses are equipped with a wheelchair lift or ramp, and a "kneeling" feature. All buses can accommodate two wheelchairs at the same time. For GCT bus route and schedule information please contact the GCT Customer Service Center at 487-4222 or 643-3158 (TDD 711).
