A MESSAGE FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER
REGARDING SERVICE DISRUPTIONS
On behalf of Gold Coast Transit, I would like thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. We know that public transportation is vital for many of you as you depend on our service to get to work and other important appointments.
As of Monday, August 8th, we have had to make some difficult decisions. We have had to cut trips on several routes throughout our service area. This was not a decision taken lightly, but it is something we found ourselves obligated to do given the limited amount of staff available. Please be assured that everybody in management that is licensed to drive a bus has been driving and continues to fill in where needed. Other employees are assisting at the Customer Service Center, answering phones, and doing everything we can to provide the most current information to those of you that depend on our service.
While I will not comment on the specifics of the contract negotiations involving our bus operators, I will share that we are working closely with SEIU to resolve the outstanding contract issues. We have every intention to, and feel confident that we will, reach an agreement. We look forward to working together as one, united team serving our community.
